Environmental Protection Measures

  • EITC offers multiple services. In order to protect our environment, EITC implements energy conservation plans as follows:
    1. EITC operates its own trucking fleet and passenger bus fleet with regular maintenance, and has a program of replacement of old vehicles with new ones that conform to the latest national environmental standards. These new vehicles can effectively reduce carbon dioxide emissions, improve air quality and meet international environmental trends.
    2. We continue to evaluate and pursue equipment and performance recovery programs for all of our vehicles. All staff are instructed to follow conservation procedures such as shutting down power to prevent emission pollution whenever they are waiting instead of idling the engine.
    3. EITC obtained approval from the Transportation Bureau of Taoyuan County to provide passenger transport services via MRT green line scheduled buses with electric-buses.
    4. Implement the efficient vehicle dispatch system to reduce empty trips.
    5. In line with the government policy, gas stations have been installed with refueling vapor recovery equipment.
    6. Reduce vehicle waiting time by improving operation efficiency in container terminal.
    7. To reduce air pollution, we use electric forklifts as a priority in warehouse operation.
    8. Setting up lighting management procedures for offices and designing work-area aprons to control light usage.
    9. Wastes such as paper, toner cartridges and other materials are classified and recycled. Meanwhile, gradual reduction of waste, waste oil and waste water and decrease of the use of garbage bags are enforced in our operation process.
    10. Wastes arising from each operation are classified and recycled.
    11. EITC promotes paperless and computerized operation in order to comply with environmental protection via energy saving and carbon reduction. These measures can also help us streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
    12. EITC has set electrical savings targets and contracted with power companies for discounts based on reduced use. To reach these targets, we have improved electrical systems and efficiencies in all of our facilities so that we can prevent unnecessary energy consumption. We are controlling system and power usage for each of our facilities.
    13. Encourage the staff to save water, and adjust the maximum water supply of faucets.
    14. Improve the equipment's efficiency by following a regular maintenance and service schedule that we have established for the main frame and condenser of air-conditioning.
    15. Promote 6S activities ( Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu, Situke, Safe ), providing employees with a safe and clean working environment.
    16. EITC has not only implemented the above measures, but has also referred to other companies’ saving methods. We plan and implement energy saving and carbon reduction operations, and encourage staff to take part in energy advocacy and carbon reduction activities.
